Troubleshooting import of Simcenter Samcef results
This topic describes the most common issues related to the Simcenter Samcef results import process.
Wrong Format error
The error Result File is in wrong format displays when:
One of the required files (*.des, *.fac and *.sdb) is missing.
The user has no write permissions on the folder containing the results files (shared folder, DVD media, etc.).
You can learn more about the problem by consulting two log files:
The import [simulation_file_name]_srapi.log log file.This file is located in the same folder as the results files.You can open this file with a text editor and read the error basic explanation. The system log file:Error : SYS_ERROR_OPERATION An operation failed in current state : Unable to open SAMCEF file C:\Projects\linear-static_as.desNote: If necessary, you can use the File→Help→Generate Support Logs for IR/PR command to generate system log files and related files that are useful for troubleshooting.
Unknown topology error
When you import Samcef results of a model built (and solved) outside the Samcef environment of Pre/Post, the model may contain elements that are not supported by Pre/Post .
For many of these elements, the import process modifies their topologies to allow Pre/Post post-processing to import them and display results, for example, mixed-order topologies are downgraded to their linear forms and then imported.
The Unknown Topology error is issued when the imported model contains Samcef special elements that have topologies that cannot be modified to fit Pre/Post requirements.

Waiting for the solve process to complete before loading the results
When you solve a model in the Samcef environment, Pre/Post post-processing waits for the solve to be completed before you can load the results:
While Pre/Post waits, the Results icon in the Simulation Navigator is inactive: .
When the solve is completed and the results are ready to be loaded, the icon is active: .Caution: Wait for this active icon before loading the results.
Note:
When you solve large models, this waiting time can be significant.
