Define a porous material
You can create porous materials for Simcenter Nastran acoustic and vibro-acoustic analyses.
You can create materials only if the Allow Local Materials customer default is selected.
The following example shows you how to define a porous material with a Delany-Bazley-Miki material model.
Make the FEM file the work part and displayed part.
Choose Home tab→Properties group→Manage Materials or Assign Materials .
From the Type list, select Porous.
Click Create material .
In the materials dialog box, in the Name - Description box, type a name for the material.
In the Properties group, in the Mass Density (RHO) box, enter 1.225E-9 in units of kg/mm^3.
On the Acoustics tab→Properties group→Porous Models list, select Delany-Bazley-Miki.
In the Speed of Sound (C) box, enter 340000 in units of mm/sec.
In the Static Flow Resistivity box, enter 8.7e-08 in units of N-sec/mm^4.
In the Porosity entry box, enter 0.97.
From the Frame Type list, select Limp Frame.
In the Frame Density box, enter 3.1e-08 in units of kg/mm^3.
Click OK.
