Connecting meshes > Spot welds
Create a spot weld mesh
Choose Home tab→Connections group→Spot Weld .
Select points, mesh points, curves, or polygon edges to specify the geometry to project to define the weld element locations.
Click Select Top Faces , and select one or more polygon faces to define the top of the spot weld mesh. Node locations are projected onto the selected face from the selected geometry defined in the first step.
Click Select Bottom Faces , and select one or more polygon faces to define the bottom of the spot weld mesh. Node locations are projected onto the selected face from the top face.
If you selected a curve or polygon edge in step one, specify whether you want to distribute nodes along the projected curve or edge by Number or Size. Enter the number of elements or the distance between nodes in Mesh Density Value.
Select the element type. Click Edit Mesh Associated Data if necessary to define additional element properties.
Specify the destination mesh collector:Select Automatic Mode to have the software create a new destination mesh collector for you. This mesh collector uses the default physical properties and inherits the material and section properties of the model. To use an existing mesh collector, clear the Automatic Mode check box and select a collector from the Mesh Collector list.To create a new destination collector, clear the Automatic Mode check box and click New Collector
Click OK, or click Apply to create additional spot welds.
