Select shell locations

When you display ply results, you can easily select a ply location. You can either use the Edit Post View command or you can use the commands in the Result group of the Results tab.

Change the ply location by editing the post view

The following is a general procedure for selecting a ply location when you display ply results by using the Edit Post View command.

  1. If necessary, load results into the Post Processing Navigator. For more information, see Load and unload results.

  2. If necessary, create a new post view for a ply result: in the Post Processing Navigator, right-click the result or result component node and choose Plot.

  3. In the Post Processing Navigator, right-click the post view and choose Edit Post View .Note: If you display post views in multiple viewports, you can modify the post view settings for multiple post views simultaneously. To edit multiple post views, in the Post Processing Navigator, hold Ctrl and click each post view node to select it, then choose Edit Post View .

  4. Click the Result tab.

  5. In the Plies group, choose the ply location: Middle Lets you select the middle of the ply.TopLets you select the top of the ply.BottomLets you select the bottom of the ply.Only the locations that are available for the selected result will be shown.

  6. Click OK.

Change the ply location with the Result group of commands

You can change the ply location to set values using commands available from the Result group of the Results tab.

Choose Results tab→Result group and select a ply location :

Middle

Lets you select the middle of the ply.

Top

Lets you select the top of the ply.

Bottom

Lets you select the bottom of the ply.

Only the locations that are available for the selected result will be shown.
