Define a damage interface material in Simcenter Samcef or Multiphysics
You can create materials only if the Allow Local Materials customer default is selected.
In this example, we define a Bi-triangular damage interface law.
Ensure that the FEM is the work or displayed part.
Choose Menu→Tools→Materials→Assign Materials or Manage Materials.
In the Material List group, select Local Materials.
In the New Material group, select Damage Interface from the Type list.
Click Create Material .
In the materials dialog box, enter a Name for the material.
Enter values for material properties. The elastic characteristics:For Transverse Stiffness (K03S), enter a value of 1600e6 in units of mN/mm3.For Shear Stiffness (K02), enter a value of 500e6 in units of mN/mm3.The damage behavior:For Fracture Toughness (GIc - GP), enter a value of 0.3 in units of N/mm.For Fracture Toughness (GIIc - GP), enter a value of 1.3 in units of N/mm.For Coupling Coefficient (DCOU), enter a value of 1.For Law Option, select the Bi-triangular law.For Energy Threshold (Y0S), enter a value of 8e-6 in units of N/mm.For Tangent of Constitutive Law (TANG), select Secant. For Parameter for Delay (ADEL), enter a value of 1.For Time for Delay (TAU), enter a value of 0.01 in units of sec.
Click OK.
Close the Manage Materials dialog box.
