Set up axisymmetry association zones and target zones

A source model refers to a model that contains a solution with Analysis Type set to any non-axisymmetric thermal type. The source model may contain axisymmetric elements.

A target model refers to a model that contains a solution with Analysis Type set to Mapping.

Simulation files that contain the source and target solutions must be loaded into the software.

Create an axisymmetry association zone in the source model

  1. Choose Mapping .

  2. In the Mapping dialog box, from the Type list, select Axisymmetry Association Zone

  3. Select the axisymmetric region of the model that contains temperature results you want to map.

  4. Click OK.

Create an axisymmetry target zone in the target model

  1. Choose Axisymmetry Target Zone .

  2. To select the elements or nodes to which you want to map the temperature results, in the Axisymmetry Target Zone dialog box, do the following:In the Destination Model Elements group, select the elements. In the Destination Model Nodes group, select the nodes.

  3. To associate your target zone with the association zone that you created in the source model, do the following:Click Update Zones. From the Axisymmetry Association Zone list, select the corresponding axisymmetry association zone.Note: In the Simcenter 3D Multiphysics solver environment, you select the corresponding Axisymmetry Source Zone modeling object from the Axisymmetry Association Zone list.

  4. Click OK.
