Solution dialog box (Modal Test Data)

Test Solution
Available when Analysis Type is set to Structural Modal Test.
Acoustic Test Solution
Available when Analysis Type is set to Acoustic Test.
Description Sets a description for the solution.
File Format Appears when Analysis Type is set to Structural Modal Test.Specifies the format of the file from which the test solution is created.UNVCreates a test solution from a Universal file.LMSCreates a test solution from a Simcenter Testlab file.
Geometry Specification
Geometry Source Specifies the source of the geometry used for the test solution such as nodes, coordinate systems, elements and tracelines.Test ModelDefines the geometry from an existing test model, which you specify from the Test Model list.FileDefines the geometry from the loaded file.
Geometry Source Appears when Geometry Source is set to Test Model.Set the name and location of the geometry from an existing test mode.
Universal File Input
Appears when File Format is set to UNV. Duplicate geometry, mode shape, or FRF data in one or more UNV files is ignored. The solver imports only the first instance. The FRF data is only supported when Analysis Type is set to Structural Modal Test.
UNV File 1 Sets the name and location of the Universal (UNV) file 1 that contains geometry, mode shape, or FRF data. The UNV Files 1 Units list lets you select the desired unit system. Automatic retrieves the units from the Universal File's dataset 164.
UNV File 2 Sets the name and location of the Universal (UNV) file 2 that contains geometry, mode shape, or FRF data. The UNV Files 2 Units list lets you select the desired unit system. Automatic retrieves the units from the Universal File's dataset 164.
UNV File 3 Appears when Analysis Type is set to Structural Modal Test.Sets the name and location of the Universal (UNV) file 3 that contains geometry, mode shape, or FRF data. The UNV Files 3 Units list lets you select the desired unit system. Automatic retrieves the units from the Universal File's dataset 164.
Correlation Data Source
Appears when Analysis Type is set to Structural Modal Test and File Format is set to LMS.
Input File Sets the name and location of the Simcenter Testlab file that contains the test geometry as well as mode shape and/or FRF data.
Mode Data Source
Appears when Analysis Type is set to Structural Modal Test and File Format is set to LMS.
Source Sets the desired Simcenter Testlab mode set.
Filter Result Types
Appears when Analysis Type is set to Structural Modal Test.
Ignore Shape Data Instructs the software to not import any shape data, such as modal, and operational, when you create the test reference solution.
Shape Data Selects the type of the shape data to import. You can only select one type in any test reference solution.Mode ShapesImports test mode shapes.Operational ShapesImports test operational deflection shapes.
Ignore FRF Data Instructs the software not to import any test FRF data when you create the test reference solution.
Mode Shape Options
Appears when File Format is set to UNV.
Complex Mode Shape Format Specifies the format of imported complex mode shapes.ComplexUses the complex mode or operational shapes, with no conversion, to perform the correlation calculation.Real - Signed AmplitudeUses the magnitude of the complex mode or operational shapes and retrieves the positive or negative value from the component with the largest absolute value.Real - Real ComponentUses the real part of the complex mode or operational shapes as the real mode shape.Real - Imaginary ComponentUses the virtual part of the complex mode or operational shapes as the real mode shape. When you select one of the real mode shape formats to compute correlation metrics, the software converts the shapes to complex format by adding a zero imaginary component.
Mode Shapes in the Global Coordinate System Appears when Analysis Type is set to Structural Modal Test.Specifies that the mode shapes in the UNV file are defined with respect to the global coordinate system. When you clear this option, the mode shapes are assumed to be expressed in the nodal coordinate system, which is consistent with most Testlab files. Regardless of the option you chose, the correlation metrics are always performed using the sensor local coordinate system, which is defined in the UNV file.
