3D hybrid meshing
Use the 3D Hybrid Mesh command to create a tetrahedral-hexahedral hybrid mesh of three-dimensional solid elements on selected bodies. The software creates three solid meshes.
| 3d_Hybrid_Hexas3d_mesh3d_Pyramid_transition | ||
|---|---|---|
| The 3d_Hybrid_Hexas mesh is the hexahedral volume mesh of the specified element type and size. | ||
| The 3d_mesh mesh is the tetrahedral volume mesh which is used to fill the areas between the hexahedral elements and the boundary layers or polygon boundaries. | ||
| The 3d_Pyramid_transition mesh is the transitional mesh used for transition from the hexahedral elements to the tetrahedral elements. It is composed of pyramid elements. |
The software creates the following boundary layer meshes only when you define a boundary layer mesh control on the faces of the polygon body:
The 3d_BL_HexWedges mesh which contains hexahedral and wedge elements.
The 3d_BL_Tets mesh which contains tetrahedral elements.
The 3d_BL_Pyramids mesh which contains pyramid elements.
Mesh points support
You can specify points inside a volume before generating a mesh. While meshing, the software creates mesh nodes on the specified mesh points and uses the tetrahedral and pyramid elements to connect these nodes to the hexahedral elements.
