Set up a mixing plane boundary condition
Specify a mixing plane with joint mesh interface
If you want to use a mixing plane the selected faces must have a mesh matting condition.
Choose Home tab→Loads and Conditions group→Mixing Plane .
In the Mixing Plane dialog box, from the Type list, select Mixing Plane with Joint Mesh Interface.
In the Region group, select the polygon faces of the mixing plane interface. Caution: Create an independent Mixing Plane simulation object for each non coplanar interface.
From the Averaging Method list, select Along Radius.
(Optional) Click Reverse Direction .
Define the axis of rotation.
Specify the center of rotation.
Enter the number of calculation points that are used to average the flow velocity and pressure along a radial arc.
Click OK.
Specify a mixing plane with a disjoint mesh interface for a cylindrical geometry
Choose Home tab→Loads and Conditions group→Mixing Plane .
Select Mixing Plane with Disjoint Mesh Interface from the Type list.
In the Upstream Region group, select the polygon faces of the upstream section of the mixing plane interface.
In the Downstream Region group, select the polygon faces of the downstream section of the mixing plane interface.
Select Along Radius from the Averaging Method list.
Define the axis of rotation.
Specify the center of rotation.
Enter the number of calculation points that are used to average the flow velocity and pressure along a radial arc.
Click OK.
