Correlation Details View subpanel (pre-test solution process)

In the Simulation Navigator, the Correlation Details View subpanel displays information about the Pre-Test Planning solution process for the selected node. The information that is displayed includes:

  • The frequency and weight for each normal mode

  • Information on all sensor selection configurations

  • The sensors' degree-of-freedom information for each configuration

Modes details

When you select the Modes [#] node under the Pre-Test node in the Simulation Navigator, the following information is displayed in the Correlation Details View subpanel. The number of rows that are displayed match the number in the square brackets.

Column name Description
Mode Indicates the mode identifier.Clear the check box to exclude a mode from the sensor selection process.
Frequency Indicates the undamped natural frequency of the selected mode. The mode produces a resonance in the structure if it is excited at or near this frequency.
Weight Indicates the weight of the mode.Select a mode in the Correlation Details View subpanel and click on the weight box of that mode to edit the weight value.

The following commands appear when you right-click one or more modes in the Correlation Details View subpanel.

Icon Command name Description
Activate Includes the selected modes in the Pre-Test solution process.
Deactivate Excludes the selected modes from the Pre-Test solution process.

Configurations details

When you select the Configurations [#] node under the Sensor Selection node in the Simulation Navigator, the following information is displayed in the Correlation Details View subpanel. The number of rows that are displayed match the number in the square brackets.

Column name Description
Name Indicates the name of the sensor selection configuration.Select the check box to activate the configuration.Clear the check box to deactivate the configuration.
Algorithm Indicates the sensor selection algorithm used in the selected configuration.
Uniax Indicates the number of uniaxial sensors for the selected configuration.
Triax Indicates the number of triaxial sensors for the selected configuration.
DOF Indicates the total number of degrees-of-freedom of the selected configuration.DOF = Uniaxial sensors + 3 x Triaxial sensors
Result State Indicates the state of the sensor selection for the selected configuration. The possible states are:Undefined — The configuration is in this state after you create it, but before you solve it.Up-to-date — The configuration is in this state when it is solved.Outdated — The configuration is in this state when you need to resolve it after you modified normal modes or candidate and required DOFs.
MAC Error Indicates the largest off-diagonal value of the Auto-MAC matrix. The smaller the value, the better distinguishable are the mode shapes when you use the MAC for correlation.

The following commands appear when you right-click a configuration in the Correlation Details View subpanel. As you select a configuration, the corresponding sensors' directions are displayed in the graphics window.

Icon Command name Description
Edit Opens the Edit Sensor Selection Configuration dialog box to let you select the number of uniaxial and triaxial sensors. See Sensor Selection Configuration dialog box for more information.
Clone Clones the selected configuration.
Delete Deletes the selected configuration.
Solve Solves the selected configuration for the best placement of the uniaxial and triaxial sensors. The software minimizes the off-diagonal values of the Auto-MAC matrix. See Min-MAC algorithm for more information.
Correlate Opens the Correlate dialog box to let you evaluate and export the Auto-MAC matrix using only the components at the configuration's active sensor DOFs. See Correlate dialog box for more information.
Generate Matching DOF Set Generates a DOF Set that matches the sensors' degrees-of-freedom of ths selected configuration.
Export to Excel Spreadsheet Exports the sensor selection configuration and results to an Excel spreadsheet.
Export to CSV File Exports the sensor selection configuration and results to a CSV file.
Information Opens the Information window that lists general information about the configuration, the node number for the placement of the uniaxial and triaxial sensors, the active DOFs and their direction, and the extraction order for that sensor.
Make Active Activates the specific configuration.

Min-MAC and MODMAC details

When you select Min-MAC or MODMAC nodes under the Configurations [#] node in the Simulation Navigator, the following information is displayed in the Correlation Details View subpanel. The number of rows is the number of sensors for the selected Min-MAC or MODMAC configuration.

Column name Description
Axiality Indicates if the corresponding sensor is uniaxial or triaxial.
Node Indicates the node number where the corresponding sensor is placed.
XYZ Indicates the status of the translational DOFs in the X, Y, and Z directions.+ — This DOF is enabled.Empty — This DOF is disabled. For a uniaxial sensor, only one of the following DOFs can be enabled: X, Y, or Z.For a triaxial sensor, all three DOFs are enabled: X, Y, and Z.
Extraction Order Indicates the order in which the sensor selection algorithm placed the selected sensor.

As you select one or more sensors in the Correlation Details View subpanel, the corresponding sensors' directions are enlarged in the graphics window. There are no right-click commands.
