Bolt Pre-Load dialog box (Simcenter Samcef)
Note:
The Bolt Pre-Load command remains available for legacy purposes. Consider using the Bolt Preload command, which provides more functionality.
| Type | |
|---|---|
| Type | Controls the type of bolt pre-load to create:Force on 1D Elements: applies a load to a bolt that is model with 1D elements (Bolt Connection).Force on 3D Elements: applies a load to a bolt that is model with 3D elements. |
| Name | |
| Name | Sets the name of the load that appears in the Simulation Navigator under the Load Container node. |
| Description | Sets the description. |
| Destination Folder | |
| Load Container | Specifies the folder in the Simulation Navigator in which the load will be stored. The list includes the root container and existing folders that you created using the New Folder command. To view a hierarchical list of existing folders, click Folder Manager . To create a new folder, right-click any level of the hierarchy and choose New Folder. |
| Elements Selection | |
| Appears when Type is set to Force on 1D Elements. | |
| Group Reference | Lets you apply the load to a group. For more information, see Group Reference options. |
| Select Object | Lets you select the objects on which the load will be applied. |
| Stacked Smart Selector Methods | Opens the Smart Selector Methods dialog box where you can specify a progression of smart selection filters. For more information, see Smart Selector Methods dialog box. |
| Excluded | Lets you remove individual entities from within the selected object. |
| Cutting Faces | |
| Appears when Type is set to Force on 3D Elements. | |
| Group Reference | Lets you select a cutting faces group. For more information, see Group Reference options. |
| Select Object | Lets you select the objects defining the cutting faces. Note: You must select the internal faces that define the cross section through the bolt. |
| Stacked Smart Selector Methods | Opens the Smart Selector Methods dialog box where you can specify a progression of smart selection filters. For more information, see Smart Selector Methods dialog box. |
| Excluded | Lets you remove individual entities from within the selected object. |
| Loading Subcase | |
| Subcase ID (FIX-1) | Sets the latest subcase ID during which the relative displacements in the bolt are still free.During this subcase, the bolt pre-tension force is progressively applied onto the bolt.In the next subcase:The relative displacements are fixed and remain fixed for all subsequent subcases. The bolt pre-tension force remains at its final pre-tension value. For more information, see the FIX parameter of the Samcef .BOLT command. |
| Pre-Tension Modeling Method | |
| Appears when Type is set to Force on 3D Elements. | |
| Method | Specifies the cutting method to split the solids along the bolt's cutting faces:**Contact (MCT)**Contact elements are created between the two cut parts.**Distance Sensor (SE3D+MEAN)**Mean interpolation elements are created between the two cut parts. For more information, see the METHOD parameter of the Samcef .BOLT command. |
| Bolt Pre-Tension Force | |
| Bolt Pre-Tension Force | Sets the bolt pre-tension load value. The load is progressively applied during the specified loading subcase. It starts with a zero value at the beginning of the subcase's time interval to reach its full pre-tension value at the end. For all subsequent subcases, the load remains at its final pre-tension value. |
| Output Requests | |
| Bolt Results | Lets you define bolt specific results. |
