Response Dynamics > Random Base Excitation > Running a random base excitation event from a command line
Solve a random base excitation event on Windows
This example shows how to solve a random base excitation using a batch file from a Windows Command Prompt window. To set up the random base excitation, see Create and solve a random base excitation.
In the Simulation Navigator, right-click the random base excitation node and choose Solve→Solver Batch File.
Navigate to the working directory and open the generated batch file in a text editor.set RBE_HOME=%UGII_BASE_DIR%\nxcae_extras\dynamicsolution\bin %RBE_HOME%\satools.exe D:\Satellite_Dish_Fem_sim1-Solution_1.op2 D:\satellite_dish_fem_sim1-response_dynamics_1-random_base_excitation_1.xml satellite_dish_fem_sim1-response_dynamics_1-random_base_excitation_1 1024
Define the SPLM_LICENSE_SERVER and UGII_BASE_DIR variables at the top of the file to set the software license server and installation directory. The following is an example of the batch file:set SPLM_LICENSE_SERVER=28000@vm-nx90-s7 set UGII_BASE_DIR=D:\Siemens\ set RBE_HOME=%UGII_BASE_DIR%\nxcae_extras\dynamicsolution\bin %RBE_HOME%\satools.exe D:\Satellite_Dish_Fem_sim1-Solution_1.op2 D:\satellite_dish_fem_sim1-response_dynamics_1-random_base_excitation_1.xml satellite_dish_fem_sim1-response_dynamics_1-random_base_excitation_1 1024
Save the batch file.
In a Command Prompt window, navigate to the batch file and execute it, or in an Explorer window, double-click on it.
