Note:
The homogenization of properties technique reduces the shell behavior to a pure flexible membrane behavior. In this case, an equivalent anisotropic material is computed from the layup stacking sequence, and the following limitations apply:
The ratio of the bending part to the membrane part is computed as T3 /12, where T is the layup overall thickness.
There is no membrane-bending coupling.
This technique is only available for shells and in a Simcenter Samcef linear static analysis.
