FE Model Component Representation dialog box (Simcenter Samcef)
| Representation | |
|---|---|
| Representation type | Specifies how the component FEM is represented in the assembly FEM.Base FEMRepresents the component using the full FE model.Samcef SuperelementRepresents the component using the binary Simcenter Samcef superelement file. |
| Super Element ID | When Representation is set to Samcef Superelement, displays the superelement ID (SEID). |
| Samcef Superelement Name | Lets you specify the superelement name. |
| Take Nonlinearities into Account | Lets you specify if nonlinearities must be taken into account or not.NoNonlinearities are not taken into account.YesNonlinearities are taken into account.Note: Taking nonlinearities into account is only useful if the superelement will be used in a nonlinear analysis. |
| Damping | |
| Damping Type | Lets you define the damping type.No DampingNo damping is applied.ViscousViscous damping.Hysteretic Stiffness FactorHysteretic stiffness dampingHysteretic Flexibility FactorHysteretic flexibility damping. |
| Appears when DAMPING is set to Viscous | |
| **Viscous Stiffness Factor (ALPHA)**Viscous Mass Factor (Beta) | Specifies the stiffness and mass values of the damping. |
| Appears when DAMPING is set to Hysteretic Stiffness Factor | |
| Hysteretic Stiffness Factor (HYST) | Specifies the stiffness proportionality factor of the hysteretic damping. |
| Appears when DAMPING is set to Hysteretic Flexibility Factor | |
| Hysteretic Flexibility Factor (IHYST) | Specifies the flexibility proportionality factor of the hysteretic damping. |
| Thermal Expansion Coefficient | Lets you specify the CTE. |
| Superelement file | |
| Source | Appears only when running Teamcenter Integration. Local enables you to browse your local operating system for external superelement files.Teamcenter enables you to browse the Teamcenter database for external superelement datasets. |
| Infers Relative Path | The full path and file name of the Simcenter Samcef database containing the superelement creation data.Enter the path and file name, or click Browse to navigate to and select the file. |
| Reload | If the superelement is modified, select this check box to reload the superelement file so that the changes propagate to your system model. |
| Units | |
| Length****Mass | Lets you define the units of the superelement.Note: If no units are found in the Infers Relative Path superelement database, the Length and Mass units that you defined will be used.If units are found in the superelement database, these database units will be displayed and used, even if you modify the Length and Mass properties before saving the modified attribute.Note: Time units always are seconds. |
| Graphical Representation | |
| Display | Specifies how superelements are represented graphically in your system model.NoneDisplays only the boundary DOF nodes.Approximation of base FEMDisplays a transparent, non-selectable approximation of the FE model topology.Superelement SymbolDisplays a generic, symbolic representation of the superelement and its boundary DOF nodes. This is the default.Simplified RepresentationDisplays a generic, symbolic representation of the superelement based on Simcenter Samcef dummy elements that are generated during the superelement creation.Note: The Simplified Representation is only useful if you choose a Simplified Representation (for Pre and Post-Processing) in the Output page of the Superelement Creation solution of the Super Element file you refer to.For more information, see the Simcenter Samcef elements documentation. |
| Regenerate FEM approximation | Available when Display is set to Approximation of base FEM.If the component base FEM is modified, select this check box to regenerate the base FEM approximation to incorporate new topology. |
