Duct Head Loss dialog box (Thermal/Flow/SST/ESC/Multiphysics)
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Name | Specify a meaningful name for the modeling object. |
| Label | Specify a unique numeric identifier for the modeling object. |
| Description | Specify a description for the modeling object. |
| Parameters | |
| Type | Specifies the type of opening.Square-Edge InletModels standard inlet head loss for a square-edged opening in a wall. It sets 0.45 in the Head Loss Coefficient box.Well–Rounded InletModels standard inlet head loss for a filleted opening in a wall. It sets 0.05 in the Head Loss Coefficient box.Protruding InletModels standard head loss for an inlet that protrudes out from the surrounding wall. It sets 0.9 in the Head Loss Coefficient box.OutletModels standard outlet head loss for a straight opening in a wall. It sets 1 in the Head Loss Coefficient box.Contraction and ExpansionModel head loss caused respectively by constriction or expansion of flow at an opening. You specify the values in the Larger Diameter, Smaller Diameter, and the Cone Angle boxes. The software computes the appropriate head loss coefficient value when you click Compute.Note: You can always modify the default or computed value in the Head Loss Coefficient box. |
