Plot trim conditions

The following shows you how to perform scenario-based post-processing on the results of a Static Aeroelastic Response (SOL 144) analysis using the Trim Analysis Results post-processing scenario.

Plot trim variables

  1. In the Scenario Based Data-Visualization Navigator, load the data source containing the trim analysis results.

  2. In the Scenarios subpanel, expand the Trim Analysis Results node. Right-click Trim Variable Values and choose Plot. A plot of the first trim variable for all subcases appears.

  3. In the Definition node, select Trim Variable Measure. From the Trim Variable Measure subpanel that appears, select the desired measure, such as Angle.

  4. (Optional) Select the subcases to plot. The Trim Analysis Results post-processing scenario initially plots all subcases. To select specific subcases to plot, do the following: Expand the Parameters node, and clear the Select all subcases check box. The Subcase option appears in the Selection node. In the Selection node, select Subcase. From the Subcase subpanel, select the subcases to plot. To plot more than one, hold the Ctrl key and select the subcases.

  5. In the Selection node, select the Trim Variable list. In the Trim Variable subpanel, select the trim variables to plot. To plot more than one, hold the Ctrl key and select the trim variables. For example, select both ANGELA and ELEV.

  6. From the Action panel at the bottom, click Apply . A plot of the selected trim variables appears. For example, the following shows a plot of the ANGELA and ELEV trim variables. Plot of ANGELA and ELEV

Plot stability and control coefficients

  1. In the Scenario Based Data-Visualization Navigator, load the data source containing the trim analysis results.

  2. In the Scenarios subpanel, expand the Trim Analysis Results node. Right-click Stability and Control Derivative Coefficients and choose Plot. A plot of the first trim variable for all subcases appears.

  4. In the Selection node, use the following options to set up the plot:Trim VariableCoefficient TypeCoefficientIn their corresponding Editor subpanel at the bottom of the Scenario Based Data-Visualization Navigator, select the values to plot. To plot more than one value, hold the Ctrl key and select the values.

  5. From the Action panel at the bottom, click Apply . A plot of the selected stability and control coefficients appears. For example, the following plot shows the CMX coefficient for AILERON and ROLL trim variables. Plot of the CMX coefficient for AILERON and ROLL trim variables
