Rupture with Damage Material dialog box (Simcenter Samcef)

To define a rupture with damage Samcef material, from the Property View list for an Orthotropic material, select Samcef Orthotropic Structure and define the following properties.

Properties
Mass Density (RHO). Lets you define the mass density. In the Samcef .MAT command, this corresponds to the M parameter.

Mechanical page

Young's Modulus (Ei)
Young's Modulus (E1), Young's Modulus (E2), and Young's Modulus (E3) Lets you define the Young's modulus. This property can be a constant, expression, or field. In the Samcef .MAT command, this corresponds to the YT parameter.
Poisson's Ratio (NUij)
Poisson's Ratio (NU12), Poisson's Ratio (NU23), and Poisson's Ratio (NU13) Lets you define the Poisson's ratio. This property can be a constant, expression, or field. In the Samcef .MAT command, this corresponds to the NT parameter.
Shear Modulus (Gij)
Shear Modulus (G12), Shear Modulus (G13), and Shear Modulus (G23) Lets you define the shear modulus. This property can be a constant, expression, or field. In the Samcef .MAT command, this corresponds to the G parameter.

Strength page

Stress Limits
Tension (ST1), Tension (ST2), and Tension (ST3) Lets you define the maximum tensile stress. In the Samcef .MAT command, this corresponds to the XT parameter.
Compression (SC1), Compression (SC2), and Compression (SC3) Lets you define the maximum compressive stress. In the Samcef .MAT command, this corresponds to the XC parameter.
Shear (SS12), Shear (SS13), and Shear (SS23) Lets you define the maximum shear stress. In the Samcef .MAT command, this corresponds to the RST parameter.
Strain Limits
Tension (XT1), Tension (XT2), and Tension (XT3) Lets you define the maximum tensile strain. In the Samcef .MAT command, this corresponds to the DT parameter.
Compression (XC1), Compression (XC2), and Compression (XC3) Lets you define the maximum compressive strain. In the Samcef .MAT command, this corresponds to the DC parameter.
Shear (XS12), Shear (XS13), and Shear (XS23) Lets you define the maximum shear strain. In the Samcef .MAT command, this corresponds to the DST parameter.

Damage page

Select Rupture with Damage, then define the following properties.

**Parameter for Delay (ADEL)**Time for Delay (TAU) Lets you define the options for the delay law.Note: The Time for Delay (TAU) value is required. For more information, see the ADEL and TAU parameters of the Samcef damage ply material page.
Equivalent Plastic Strain Limit Lets you define the equivalent plastic strain limit.
Maximum Damage Value (DDEN) To avoid a singular stiffness matrix when all the material is damaged, you can specify the maximum damage value the material can undergo. Default value = 0.999For more information, see the DDEN parameter of the Samcef damage ply material page.

You cannot define any properties in the Viscoelasticity or Viscoplasticity pages.

For more information, see the Samcef Rupture material page.
