Manage graphs

Plot existing graphs

  • To plot a defined graph, in the Post Processing Navigator, right-click the graph and choose Plot.

Save a graph as an AFU file

You can save a graph as an AFU file (the storage file for table functions).

For more information about AFU files, see Manage AFU files in the Functions and Graphing help.

  1. In the Post Processing Navigator, right-click the graph and choose Save as AFU.

  2. In the AFU File Selection dialog box, browse to the desired directory and name the AFU file.

  3. Click OK.

Note:

You can also set up the software to automatically save a graph as an AFU file.

  • Choose MenuPreferencesPost ProcessingGraphAuto AFU saving for graphs in post process check box.

Generate a table field from a graph

You can generate a table field from a graph in a post view. You can treat this field like any other field: plot, export, or save this field to an AFU file, or use it to define field-based boundary conditions in subsequent analyses.

  • In the Post Processing Navigator, right-click the graph, and choose Create Table Field.

The table field appears in the Fields node of the Simulation Navigator.

List information about a graph or its AFU file

To list the X and Y values for a graph:

  • In the Post Processing Navigator, right-click the graph and choose List.

To list information about the stored AFU file:

  • In the XY Function Navigator, right-click the graph and choose Information.

Delete graphs

  • In the Post Processing Navigator, right-click the path or graph and choose Delete.
