Mode Set / Frequency Response Function Set / Acoustic Transfer Vector Set / Vibro-Acoustic Transfer Vector Set dialog box

Name
Name Lets you specify the name of the Mode, FRF, ATV, or VATV Set that appears in the Simulation Navigator.
Data Source
Data source Lets you specify the source of the result file to use to create the set.The following options appear when the Simulation file is the work part:FileLets you create the set from an external file.Type a path and file name, or click Browse to browse to the file location.Solution ResultLets you create the set from solution results in the current Simulation file. Only solutions with existing results files appear in the list.
File name Lets you select the results file to use as the data source for the set.Nastran result (.op2), Simcenter Testlab project (.lms), I-deas result (.unv), Abaqus ODB (.odb), ANSYS structural result (.rst), or Simcenter HDF5 Data (.sc_h5) file for a Mode Set.Nastran result (.op2), Simcenter Testlab project (.lms), or I-deas result (.unv) file for an FRF Set.Nastran result (.op2) file for an ATV or VATV Set.Note: Specialist Durability does not support the Simcenter Testlab project (.lms) and Simcenter HDF5 Data (.sc_h5) file. The software imports MSC Nastran files without modal mass. You must use the Edit Modes command to apply modal mass values. For information on Edit Modes, see Editing modes or functions in mode sets and FRF sets. When you import Simcenter Testlab LMS files:You can display the names of the Mode or FRF Set degrees of freedom by right-clicking the set and choosing Information. If the Mode or FRF Set has DOF data with no node assigned, the software creates a new node at the center of the component FEM coordinate system.
Upgrade Option Appears when you import an Abaqus .odb file that was saved using a previous version of Abaqus. You must select one of the following options to upgrade the file to the current version of Abaqus:Create a copy in the same folderCreates a copy of the existing file in the latest format in the same folder. Create a copy in the temp folderCreates a copy of the existing file in the latest format in the temp folder. Overwrite the fileOverwrites the original file with the latest supported version. Rename the original fileRenames the original file (adds a _original suffix)
Expose functions on nodes if less than Appears when the result file is in HDF5 format.
Mesh SourceAvailable for Mode Sets
Mesh Source Lets you specify the file that contains the mesh data for the mode set. For example, you can specify a different file from the Data Source file, such as a Nastran .pch file, or you can specify a FEM file that contains the appropriate mesh.Select Data Source if you want to use the mesh information contained in the Data Source file.Select File to specify the file that contains the mesh data.Type a path and file name, or click Browse to browse to the file location.Select Solution Result to use the mesh data associated with a specific solution in the current Simulation file.Select Fem to use a FEM file in the current assembly FEM.
Units
Appears when units are not defined in the input files, except for Simcenter Testlab (*.lms) files, which are always in SI units.Lists the units in which the result files are imported, and lets you select new units for files that do not contain units. When the files contain units, the import overrides any user-defined units.
Modes Selection
Appears when the source file contains multiple mode sets.
Modes list Specifies the mode set to replace the FEM file.
FRF Selection
Appears when the source file contains multiple FRF sets.
Include Lets you select the FRF sets to include in the FRF Set that replaces the FEM file. When you select multiple FRF sets, the software merges them into one set.To exclude or include FRF sets, right-click one or more cells and choose Modify Status. If the FRF sets you select contain duplicates, the Information window opens with a warning message and a list of the FRFs. You can exclude duplicate FRFs in this dialog box, or you can remove them from the original file. For Simcenter Testlab files that contain timestamps, you can let the software select the FRFs with the most recent timestamp. If your source file does not contain timestamps, you must manually select the FRFs to avoid duplicates.
Name The name of the FRFs in the source file.In Simcenter Testlab files, this name corresponds to the path in the Simcenter Testlab Navigator with
Mesh Creation ModeAppears for Mode and FRF Sets.
Associated Elements Imports nodes and elements from the data source file to define the mesh for the alternate representation. For more information, see Controlling mesh creation for mode sets.
Visualization Elements Imports any visualization elements, such as Nastran PLOTEL elements, in the data source file to define the mesh for the alternate representation. For more information, see Controlling mesh creation for mode sets.
Companion Data SourcesAppears for Mode Sets.
Lists additional data sources associated with the primary data source. The primary data source is the source that is selected in the Data Source group. For more information, see Mode sets.
Edits the Selected Data Source Appears when a valid primary data source is set and a companion data source is listed in the Companion Data Sources table.Opens the Edit Data Source dialog box that lets you edit the selected companion data source.
Removes the Selected Data Source Appears when a valid primary data source is set and a companion data source is listed in the Companion Data Sources table.Removes a companion data source from the list.
Adds a Data Source from External File Appears when a valid primary data source is set.Opens the Add Data Source dialog box that lets you set an external file as companion data source.
Adds a Simulation Result as Data Source Appears when the Simulation file is the work part and a valid primary data source is set.Opens the Add Data Source dialog box with the following options.FileLets you select an external file as companion data source.Solution ResultLets you select a solution result in the current Simulation file as companion data source. Only solutions with existing results files appear in the list.
Solver Options
Appears when FRF Set is selected.
Enforced Reciprocity If you select this check box, the software averages the FRF matrix with its reciprocal FRF, if one exists. The resulting FRF set has Enforced Reciprocity and is symmetric. If you clear the Enforced Reciprocity check box, the software does not average the FRF matrix with an existing reciprocal FRF. The software uses the complete FRF matrix and the resulting FRF set is nonsymmetric.
