Project elements

  1. Choose Nodes and Elements tab→Elements group→Element Copy and Project .

  2. From the Type menu, choose the part of the element to project.

  3. Use Select Object to select the elements to project.

  4. Click Select Target Face to select the face onto which to copy and project the elements.

  5. Use the % Offset to Surface distance option to control how much the software offsets the new elements from the original geometry.

  6. Define the projection direction.If you are projecting element edges or a combination of element edges and faces, use the Specify Vector options to define the projection vector.If you are projecting element faces, choose the projection method.If you choose Along Vector, use the Specify Vector options to define the projection vector.If you choose Element Normal, use Reverse Direction, if necessary, to control the projection direction.

  7. If necessary, choose the type of elements to create.

  8. Specify the mesh collector to which to assign the new elements.

  9. Choose whether to add the new elements to a new or existing mesh in the Simulation Navigator.

  10. (Optional) Use the Label options to control how the software defines the labels for the new elements.

  11. Click OK or Apply.
