Sensor dialog box (Response Dynamics)

Type
Type Specifies the type of results the sensor evaluates.Displacement****Velocity Acceleration Reaction Force
Name
Name A descriptive name for the sensor.
Description A longer description of the sensor.
Select Node
Select Node Lets you select nodal locations for the sensor.
Node Labels Lets you add nodal locations to the selection.Use a space or comma to separate your entries.Use a colon or a dash to add a range of node labels. For example, enter 1:10 or 1-10 to add all the node labels from 1 to 10.Use colons to add an incremented range of node labels. For example, enter:1:9:2 to add node labels 1, 3, 5, 7, 9.1:10:2 to add node labels 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 10.10:1:-2 to add node labels 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, 1.Press enter or click Select to add your entries. To edit your selection, click Edit Node Selection .
Direction
Direction Specifies the type of sensor to create.Component — Lets you specify the direction of the sensor by selecting the component DOFs (in the nodal displacement coordinate system).Direction — Lets you specify the direction of the sensor by selecting a vector.Normal — Creates the sensor normal to the element faces associated with the node on which you place it. To determine the normal for a node, the software creates a virtual reference face using the nodes from the surrounding free element faces.Note: The Normal option works only if you place the sensor on an exterior node (a node on the free face of an element). It is intended for free element face regions that are tangent continuous, such as edge blends or fillets. Using it on corner locations may give unexpected results.
X, Y, Z, RX, RY, RZ Available when the direction type is set to Component. The direction components (in the nodal displacement coordinate system) in which to evaluate the results.
Specify Vector Available when the direction type is set to Direction. The vector in which to evaluate the results.See Vector dialog box for more information.
Reverse Direction Available when the direction type is set to Direction.Reverses the current direction of the sensor.
