Set the display of material, property, and mesh-based post view

The following are general procedures for setting up a post view when the color display is set to material, property, or mesh-based. You can also use the commands in the Post View and Display groups of the Results tab to quickly access display options.

Set the display

  1. In the graphics window or the Post Processing Navigator, select a material, property, or mesh-based post view. Note: If post views are displayed in multiple viewports, you can modify the post view settings for multiple post views simultaneously. To edit multiple post views, in the graphics window or the Post Processing Navigator, hold Ctrl and click each post view to select it.

  2. Choose Results tab→Post View group→Edit Post View .

  3. To control the display and appearance of element edges, set Edges to the appropriate option and click Color to set the color of the edges.For complete instructions, see Set the display of edges in post views.

  4. To display results on the whole volume, on element free faces, or on a cutting plane, from the Display on list, select an appropriate option. If you choose Cutting Plane, click Options to control the cutting plane display and determine the cutting plane location.For complete instructions, see Cutting plane displays.

  5. Click OK.

Set the deformation

  1. Choose Results tab→Post View group→Deformation . Note: If post views are displayed in multiple viewports, you can modify the post view settings for multiple post views simultaneously. To edit multiple post views, in the Post Processing Navigator, hold Ctrl and in the graphics window or Post Processing Navigator, click each post view node to select it, then choose Deformation .

  2. To turn on deformation, select the Deformation check box.

  3. Select a deformation result and data component, specify a scale factor, and, and optionally, select to display the undeformed model.For complete instructions, see Displaying deformations.

  4. Click OK.
