Time Discretization dialog box

Use this dialog box to define computation time intervals and storage increments.

When you define the function of time for the excitation sets, ensure that the range of intervals you set here matches the range you set in the formula field for the excitation set. For example, if you set the time discretizations from 0 seconds to 10 seconds with the number of time steps set to 200, the formula for the excitation set should be set to the same range (minimum of 0 seconds to maximum of 10 seconds) with the number of points set to 200.

Modeling Object
Name Sets a unique name for the modeling object.
Label Sets a unique integer for the modeling object.
Properties
Description Sets a description for this time discretization modeling object. You can optionally click Description to open the Description dialog box. This lets you see more of the text that you type, as well as cut, copy, or paste text. This description appears only on this dialog box.

Time tab

Time Interval
Except for the first time discretization modeling object, the starting time of each modeling object must be coincident with the ending time of the previous one.
From Sets the starting time of this interval.
To Sets the ending time of this interval.
Imposed Time Step
Number of Time Steps Sets the number of time steps that you want to output within the range set by the time interval.

Storage tab

Set values for these options if you want to override the global storage values set for the solution.

Storage Frequency
Set the increments in whole numbers. For example, if you enter 1, each increment (Increment 1, Increment 2, Increment 3, and so on) is written to the output. If you enter 2, every second increment (Increment 2, Increment 4, Increment 6, and so on) starting with 2 is written to the output. If you enter 3, every third increment (Increment 3, Increment 6, Increment 9, and so on) starting with 3 is written to the output.
Storage Frequency of all Nodal Results (.CAT IA16) Sets the increments for which you want the solver to write output of the nodal results.
Storage Frequency of all Element Results (.CAT IA4) Sets the increments for which you want the solver to write output of the element results.
Storage Frequency of XY Results (.CAT IA19) Sets the increments for which you want the solver to write output of the XY (time history) results.
