Set up rotational periodicity association and target zones

A source model refers to a model that contains a solution with Analysis Type set to any non-axisymmetric thermal type.

A target model refers to a model that contains a solution with Analysis Type set to Mapping.

Simulation files that contain the source and target solutions must be loaded into the software.

Create a rotational periodicity association zone in the source model

  1. Choose Mapping .

  2. In the Mapping dialog box, from the Type list, select Rotational Periodicity Association Zone.

  3. In the model, select the rotational periodicity region that contains the temperature results that you want to map.

  4. In the Number of Segments box, enter the number of times the source sector is rotated.

  5. Specify the axis of revolution.

  6. Click OK.

Create a rotational periodicity target zone in the target model

  1. Choose Rotational Periodicity Target Zone .

  2. In the Rotational Periodicity Target Zone dialog box, do the following:To map the temperature results to elements, in the Destination Model Elements group, select the elements. To map the temperature results to nodes, in the Destination Model Nodes group, select the nodes.

  3. To associate your target zone with the rotational periodicity association zone that you created in the source model, do the following:Click Update Zones. From the Rotational Periodicity Association Zone list, select the zone you created.Note: In the Simcenter 3D Multiphysics solver environment, you select the corresponding Rotational Periodicity Source Zone modeling object from the Rotational Periodicity Association Zone list.

  4. Click OK.
