Video: Solve the model

After you have prepared your FE model by defining a mesh and applying boundary conditions, you can perform a solve. When you solve your model, the software creates the input file for the selected solver and then begins processing it. You can also simply create the solver input file without actually solving it.

Note:

You can also write out an input file with the FileExport menu command. This command lets you control the location of the input file, as well as the units for the file. You can write out the active FEM and Simulation file or only the active FEM file. See Exporting finite element data for more information.

To solve a model, do one of the following:

  • In the Simulation Navigator, right-click a solution and choose Solve.

  • Choose Home tab→Solution group→Solve .

  • Choose MenuAnalysisSolve.
