Zero-Resistor thermal model
The Zero-Resistor thermal model connects the electronic component to the PCB. The solver:
Creates an internal thermal coupling that models a perfect contact between the component and the board. The component region faces are used as the primary region and the mounting region as the secondary region.
Creates an internal thermal load and applies it to component region faces.
The software can report the temperature of every element on the component mesh, or a single merged temperature. According to the option you choose, the results are calculated as follows:
| Variable component temperature example | Single component temperature example |
| Component region | Thermal coupling | Load | |||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mounting region | Merge set |
