Notch Based Seam Weld Local Stress State dialog box
| Name-Description | |
|---|---|
| Name | Sets a unique name for the parameter. |
| Label | Sets a unique integer for the parameter. The dialog box automatically displays the next available label number. However, you might want to change this if you use a particular series of numbers to identify certain types of parameters. |
| Description | Sets a description for the parameter. This description appears in the Durability Simulation Objects dialog box only if you add the Description column to the list table. To do that, right-click the column heading row and choose Columns→Configure. In the Configure Columns dialog box, select the Description check box and then click OK. |
| Categorization | |
| Category | Sets the category name for this parameter. |
| Sub-Category | Sets the subcategory name for this parameter. The subcategory appears in the Durability Simulation Objects dialog box only if you add the Sub-Category column to the list table. |
| Properties | |
| Local Stress State | Specifies the local stress state for a seam weld analysis.Notch StressUses the Siemens load flow analysis method to calculate the notch stresses in seam welds from the results in the finite element analysis.Effective Notch StressUses the Siemens load flow analysis method plus a notch correction method according to Neuber to calculate the notch stresses in seam welds from the results in the finite element analysis. For more information, see Improvements to the notch stress method—effective stresses |
| Microscopic Structure Length | Appears when Local Stress State is set to Effective Notch Stress.Sets the microscopic structure length (rho*) according to Neuber for use in notch correction. |
| Stress Direction | Normal to Weld LineUses the component of the notch stress tensor that is normal to the weld line.Shear Stress of Weld LineUses the shear stress of the notch stress tensor. |
