Set up an Update Agent for use with Product Template Studio

For certain types of models, you can set up an Update Agent for a solution within your simulation to re-solve automatically when the solid geometry or the points, curves, or coordinate systems in the master part are modified. The mesh, boundary conditions, and solutions can be updated.

Note:

Any part modifications you make while the FEM, idealized part, or Simulation file are displayed will not trigger a re-solve.

This feature works with the FEM object in the Product Template Studio application. For more information, see Properties for FEM objects.

  1. Choose FileUtilitiesCustomer Defaults.

  2. In the Customer Defaults dialog box, select SimulationPre/PostGeneral.

  3. On the Environment tab, select the Allow UpdateAgent Creation check box.

  4. Click OK and restart the software. If you do not have access to customer defaults, request your system administrator to turn on the Allow UpdateAgent Creation customer default.

  5. Open your simulation in the Pre/Post application.

  6. Right-click the solution and select Add Update Agent.

Remove an Update Agent

To remove an update agent, right-click the solution and select Remove Update Agent.
