Node Project dialog box
| Type | |
|---|---|
| Type | Controls how to project the nodes.Project: Projects the selected nodes onto a selected edge or face.Copy and Project: Creates a new copy of the selected nodes and projects them onto a selected edge or face. With this option, the original location of the selected nodes remains unchanged. |
| Nodes to Project | |
| Select Node | Lets you select the nodes to project. |
| Node Labels | Lets you add nodes to the selection.Use a space or comma to separate your entries.Use a colon or a dash to add a range of node labels. For example, enter 1:10 or 1-10 to add all the node labels from 1 to 10.Use colons to add an incremented range of node labels. For example, enter:1:9:2 to add node labels 1, 3, 5, 7, 9.1:10:2 to add node labels 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 10.10:1:-2 to add node labels 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, 1.Press enter or click Select to add your entries. To edit your selection, click Edit Node Selection . |
| Target Projection Geometry | |
| Select Edge or Face | Lets you specify the geometry onto which to project the selected nodes. You can use the Selection Filter to specify a polygon edge, a polygon face, or a datum plane. |
| % Offset to Edge or Face | Specifies the percentage of the distance to the target geometry to offset the nodes. For example:Specify 100% to have the software project the nodes directly onto the target edge or face.Specify 50% to have the software project the nodes to a location that is halfway between their original location and the target geometry. |
| Projection Method | |
| Method | Lets you define the method the software onto which to project the selected nodes.By Direction: Projects the nodes along a specified vector.By Shortest Distance: Projects the nodes by finding the points on the target geometry that are closest to the nodes’ original locations. |
| Specify Vector | Lets you define the vector along which to project the nodes. |
| Reverse Direction | Reverses the direction of the vector. |
| Projection Tolerance | |
| Projected Node Proximity to Edge/Face | Lets you specify a tolerance value that the software uses to determine whether to project a node onto an edge or face. If the distance between the projected location for the node and an edge or face is smaller than this value, the software projects the node onto the geometry. |
| Label | |
| Label Options | Lets you specify the method to use to define node labels.Choose Label/Increment to specify the starting label to use for the new nodes and the increment between subsequent labels.Choose Offset to offset the starting label to use for the new nodes by a specified value. |
| Label | Lets you specify the starting label for the new nodes. |
| Increment | Lets you specify the increment the software should use for each successive node label. |
| Offset | Lets you specify a value by which to offset the starting label for the new nodes from the current highest node label. |
| Preview | |
| Preview | Select this check box to automatically preview the appearance of the projected nodes once you have specified the minimum options necessary. |
| Show Result | Previews the projected nodes based upon your current selections. |
