Cylindrical Constraint dialog box

Use the Cylindrical Constraint dialog box to apply a constraint to a cylindrical face.

Name
Name Sets the name of the constraint.
Description Sets the description of the constraint.
Destination Folder
Constraint Container Specifies the folder in the Simulation Navigator in which the boundary condition will be stored. The list includes the root container and existing folders that you created using the New Folder command. Examples of a root container include Load Container, Constraint Container, and Simulation Object Container. To view a hierarchical list of existing folders, click Folder Manager . To create a new folder, right-click any level of the hierarchy and choose New Folder.
Cylindrical Object
Group Reference Lets you apply the constraint to a group. For more information, see Group Reference options.
Select Object Lets you select the geometry or FE entities on which the constraint will be applied.
Stacked Smart Selector Methods Opens the Smart Selector Methods dialog box where you can specify a progression of smart selection filters. For more information, see Smart Selector Methods dialog box.
Excluded Lets you remove individual entities from within the selected object.
Components
Radial Growth Defines the constraint for the R-axis.FixedAllows no movement in the DOF.FreeAllows free movement in the DOF.DisplacementAllows displacement in the DOF, by a specified value that you enter into the adjacent box.
Axial Rotation Defines the constraint for theta.
Axial Growth Defines the constraint for the Z-axis.
All Free Sets all components to free.
All Fixed Sets all components to fixed.
Displacement CSYS or Method (Abaqus only) Displays the solver-specific coordinate system for the constraint.
Card Name Displays the name of the solver card for the constraint.
Additional magnitude options for boundary conditions
Expression Lets you define the magnitude with a constant value or expression. The Expression box sets the value of the expression. For more information, see the Expressions. The units list sets the type of units. The options list displays a menu of options for defining the magnitude with an expression. For more information, see Additional magnitude options.
Field Lets you define a magnitude that varies with independent variables such as frequency, temperature, or time.
