Select connected element edges

Use the Connected Element Edges selection method when you need to select connected element edges, for example, when you a define a region for edge-to-edge contact.

1. On the scene toolbar, from the Method list, select Connected Element Edges.The Type Filter is automatically set to Element Edge.

2. Click Smart Selector Options to specify other options, such as Prefer Free Element Edges.

3. Select an element edge near the start of the connected element edges that you want to select.An arrow shows where you can select next.

4. Move the mouse over the element edges along the direction of the arrow. The software highlights edges that fit the selected criteria.

5. Click to select the connected element edges.
