Types of coupled thermal-structural analyses (Abaqus)

In the Abaqus environment, two methods of performing a coupled thermal-structural analysis are available. Use them when the stress analysis depends on the temperature distribution and the temperature distribution depends on the structural solution.

Coupled Thermal-Structural

A Coupled Thermal-Structural analysis neglects inertia effects and can be transient or steady-state.

Dynamic Coupled Thermal-Structural

A Dynamic Coupled Thermal-Structural analysis includes inertia effects and models a transient thermal response.

Note:

The *KINEMATIC COUPLING keyword is not imported in the Abaqus Coupled Thermal-Structural environment.
