Importing results
You can import and access results for solves performed outside of the current set of solutions. The following file formats are supported for importing results:
Supported results formats

Ways to import results
Post-processing provides three ways to import results:
Into your session using the Post Processing Navigator.
Into your Simulation file as an imported solution.
Using Teamcenter Integration mode
Importing results through the Post Processing Navigator
Typically, you import results through the Post Processing Navigator:
When sharing results of a completed analysis with colleagues.
To quickly view results without loading the associated FEM and Simulation data.
To view results created outside of this software.
Results imported in this way are available only during your current session. These results are not associated with any model, and you cannot access model data such as meshes, groups, coordinate systems, or beam sections.
When you import the results, you can set the type of environment to associate with them, either Standard or Acoustic, or let the software infer the environment from the contents of the results. For more information, see Post-processing environments.
Importing results as an imported solution
You can import results into a Simulation file as an imported solution. For example, if you export your Simulation, edit the solver input file, and perform a batch or stand-alone solve, you can use this technique to associate those results with your Simulation. When you reopen the Simulation file in subsequent sessions, you have access to the imported results, and you can load them as you would any native results file.
When you import results into the Simulation, the software creates a new solution, containing the imported model and the associated results.
If the loaded CAE model and the imported results share the same node and element labels, you can optionally access groups and meshes defined in the CAE model when post-processing results. Meshes and groups can be used to control visibility, identify and annotate results, generate seed sets, and so on. Edit the imported solution and, in the Solution dialog box, select Pre-Processing Groups and Meshes are Valid in Post.
Importing results files in Teamcenter Integration mode
You can import results files associated with Simulation files managed in Teamcenter. In the Simulation Navigator and Post Processing Navigator, there are two import options:
Import Results file from Teamcenter—Lets you select a solver results file to import using the Import Results File from Teamcenter dialog box. You can browse your Teamcenter database and select a Simulation file. The dialog box provides a view of each file's Teamcenter attributes, such as Part Number, Part Revision, Part Description, and so on. Results files stored with that Simulation file are displayed in the Choose result file to import list.
Import Local Results—Lets you select a solver results file to import using the native operating system file browser.
Where do I find it?
| Application | Pre/Post |
|---|---|
| Prerequisite | A Simulation file as the work part and displayed part |
| Post Processing Navigator | Right-click the Imported Results node→Import Results |
| Simulation Navigator | Right-click the Simulation file node→Import Results |
