Group Elements by Boundary dialog box
| Find Elements to Group | |
|---|---|
| Select Seed Element | Lets you select the shell element from which the software begins grouping other shell elements that bound the volume of interest. |
| Element Label | Lets you specify the seed element by entering the label of the element.Press enter or click Select to enter your selection.To edit your selection, click Edit Element Selection . |
| Reverse Direction | Lets you reverse the direction of the seed element normal if it points outside the volume of interest. |
| Find Closed Volume | Select to allow the grouping process to proceed past a closed-loop interior feature like a bulkhead.Clear to terminate the grouping process at a closed-loop interior feature like a bulkhead. |
| Find Elements | Click to initiate the grouping process. |

| Create two groups based on normals | The software places shell elements that mesh an interior feature and have both faces interior to the volume of interest, and any 1D elements that are selected during the grouping process in the Non-Manifold Connected group. The software places the other shell elements in either one or two groups depending on the Create two groups based on normals check box setting.Select to place the shell elements in two groups based on the direction of their normal.Clear check box to place the shell elements in a single group. |
| Group One Group Two | Lets you select other shell elements to add to the group or groups. |
| Preview Groups | Lets you preview the shell elements that the software places in groups, minus the shell elements the software places in the Non-Manifold Connected group.The software displays the normals for the shell elements and highlights the seed element. |
| Preview Removed Elements | Lets you preview the shell and 1D elements that the software places in the Non-Manifold Connected group. |
