Plot solver quality results (Acoustics BEM)

You can use post-processing contour plots to verify the quality of the model.

  1. In the Post Processing Navigator, right-click an Acoustic or Vibro Acoustic results node and choose Load.

  2. Expand the Acoustic or Vibro Acoustic results node.

  3. Expand the Solver Quality Results node that contains the model quality results that you want to plot.The following types of model quality results appear in the Solver Quality Results list for Acoustics BEM:Maximum Frequency - ElementalDisplays the maximum valid frequency for each element with values on each acoustical element. The maximum valid frequency for each element depends on the element size, speed of sound, and flow speed.For more information, see Scenario-based post-processing.Free Edges - NodalThe mesh edges that do not touch any infinite plane are considered free edges.Displays 0 on all nodes that do not belong to any free edge, and 1 on those nodes that belong to a free edge. A thick red strip appears where free edges are located.Junction Edges - NodalJunction edges are edges shared by more than two elements.Displays 0 on all nodes that do not belong to any junction edge, and 1 on those nodes that belong to a junction edge. A thick red strip appears where junction edges are located.Note: The Free Edge and Junction Edge checks are only valid for Indirect BEM. Direct BEM should not contain any free edges or junctions.

  4. Right-click the results that you want to plot and choose Plot.

  5. (Optional) Overlay different results in the same plot.For more information, see Overlay plots.
