Define rotor bearing or bushing properties

This procedure assumes that you are defining properties for CBEAR2 or CBUSH2 elements.

  1. In the Simulation Navigator, make the FEM file the work part and the displayed part.

  2. Under the FEM file, expand the 1D Collectors node.

  3. To ensure that the coordinate system of the bearing or bushing element is consistent with the X (1), Y (2), and Z (3) directions that are used in the bearing and bushing coefficients, do the following: Expand the Rotor Bearing Collector or Rotor Bushing Collector node.Right-click a CBEAR2 or CBUSH2 (connection_mesh) element and choose Edit Mesh Associated Data.In the Element Properties group, confirm that CSYS is consistent with the coordinate system of the rotor. The Z-axis of the element must be in the same direction as the rotation of the rotor. If the coordinate system is not consistent with the X (1), Y (2), and Z (3) directions, define a local coordinate system that is. Click OK to close the Mesh Associated Data dialog box.

  4. Right-click the Rotor Bearing Collector or Rotor Bushing Collector node and choose Edit.

  5. In the Mesh Collector dialog box, next to Rotor Bearing Property or Rotor Bushing Property, click Edit .

  6. In the PBEAR2 or PBUSH2 dialog box, from the Bearing Type or Bushing Type list, select the desired type.

  7. Using the options on the dialog box, define the mechanical and physical properties of the bearing or bushing.

  8. Click OK to close the PBEAR2 or PBUSH2 dialog box.

  9. Click OK to close the Mesh Collector dialog box.
