FE Model Correlation and Update > Correlation solution process
Correlation
Use the Correlation command to define the Reference Solution and the Work Solution and to specify options required for correlating the results from the two solutions.
When you create a new correlation solution process, in the Correlation dialog box, you can:
Select one solution from the list in the Reference Solution (Test or Analysis) group. For a modal correlation solution process, you can select a structural or acoustic solution in the current part or an imported test or analysis solution. For an FRF correlation solution process, the reference solution must be a test solution.
Select one analysis solution from the list of all possible solutions in the Work Solution (Analysis) group.
(Optional) For a shape correlation, select a subcase for the work and reference solutions and a measurement type in the Subcase Selection group.Note: To open a correlation solution process that was saved in a release prior to Simcenter 3D 2021.1, containing a subcase without modes, you must edit the solution process and select a valid subcase.
Remove or add low- and/or high-frequency modes by specifying a cutoff frequency for the modal correlation solution process.
Specify the node-to-node matching tolerance between the reference and work solutions.

When you create a new correlation solution process, the software automatically creates the Correlation node in the Simulation Navigator with modal or FRF representations of both the work and reference solutions and automatically computes the mode pairs between the two solutions for the modal correlation solution process and frequency response functions (FRFs) pairs for the FRF correlation solution process.
Each time you modify the correlation solution process or the work solution, the Node Map [#] node, and the Mode Pairs [#] or FRF Pairing [#] node become out dated. For more information, see Refreshing correlation results.
