Filter and sort the objects in the Post Processing Navigator
Filter objects
Use wildcard filters to control what objects are listed in the Post Processing Navigator for a post view or template.
In the Post Processing Navigator, under a post view node, right-click the node of the object you want to filter or right-click the Templates node. Choose Filter→Wildcard. For example, to filter which 2D elements are listed for a post view, under a post view node, right-click 2D Elements and choose Filter→Wildcard.
In the WiIdcard box, type the wildcard characters and character strings, such as element name, for the objects you want to list. For example, to list only those meshes with mapped in their name, type mapped. Tip: Use the asterisk symbol (*) to match any characters.Use the period symbol (.) to match a single character.Use the at symbol (@) to override using a period as a wildcard symbol. For example, to list all the meshes whose names include a period, in the Assign Wildcard dialog box, in the Wildcard box, type @.. Because the @ symbol precedes the period symbol, the software interprets the period as a text character rather than as a wildcard symbol. For more information, see Wildcard.
Click OK.
Turn off a filter
- In the Post Processing Navigator, right-click the parent node of the object and choose Filter→Off.
Sort objects
You can sort the objects listed for a post view in the Post Processing Navigator by name, material, physical property, label, and so on, depending on the object type. You can also sort templates by name.
Note:
You cannot sort groups you created in post-processing or imported by their label because they do not have labels.
- In the Post Processing Navigator, under a post view node, right-click the node of the object you want to sort or right-click the Templates node. Choose Sort and the sort order.(Sort: ) and the type of sort appears after the node in the Filter column of the Post Processing Navigator to indicate you sorted the node. For example, (Sort: Name) appears in the Filter column if you sort by name. The 1D elements are also listed alphabetically by name.
Turn off sorting
- In the Post Processing Navigator, right-click the parent node of an object and choose Sort→Off.
