Customizing the post view legend
You can customize the legend text that appears in a post view, and you can assign custom ranges and colors to the color bar.
Customizing the legend text
By default, the software automatically generates legend text based on the information extracted from the Post Processing Navigator, such as the current Simulation, solution, step or subcase, result and result component, and minimum and maximum values. You may want to include header text that is more meaningful to your audience, to include project or product information, or to conform to your company’s policies and standards.
When customizing the legend text, you can:
Choose from a list of pre-defined information, called tokens, to be extracted and displayed in the legend header, such as result minimum and maximum or shell section. You can also control the order the pre-defined information is displayed, and add your own text before or after the pre-defined information.
Add or remove lines of text.
You can use the Edit Post View command to customize the legend text of an individual post view or use the Post Processing Preferences command to set the legend text for all post views and save the changes across sessions. Only tokens that apply to all post views appear when setting the legend text using the Post Processing Preferences command.
When you create a new post view, it uses the legend text set in the Post Processing Preferences dialog box. You can override the text by customizing it or applying a template or layout state with legend text settings.
Customizing the color bar
When customizing the color bar, you can:
Modify the range of values assigned to a color band.
Replace colors to, for example, draw attention to a particular range of values or define a custom spectrum.
Note:
When you customize the color bar ranges and spectrum, any subsequent changes you make to the color display (for example, banded versus contour) or color bar (for example, number of levels, scale, results displayed, and so on) revert the color bar to its default values. As a best practice, be sure you define all of your color bar options before modifying the range and colors.
Alternating bands of black and white to show lines of constant stress.
