Global Damping dialog box (Abaqus)

Properties
Description Lets you specify an optional description for the modeling object.
Global Damping Parameters
Rayleigh Mass Damping Factor Specifies the αglobal factor to create global Rayleigh mass proportional damping Dα=αglobal * M, where M is the model’s mass matrix.This option corresponds to the ALPHA parameter for the *GLOBAL DAMPING keyword.
Rayleigh Stiffness Damping Factor Specifies the βglobal factor to create global Rayleigh mass proportional damping Dβ=βglobal * K, where K is the model’s stiffness matrix.This option corresponds to the BETA parameter for the *GLOBAL DAMPING keyword.
Structural Stiffness Damping Factor Specifies the s**global factor to create frequency-independent stiffness proportional damping, D**s=is**global * K, where K is the model’s stiffness matrix.This option corresponds to the STRUCTURAL parameter for the *GLOBAL DAMPING keyword.
