Laminate Composites > Inflating laminates
Create a 3D laminate between 2D dependent meshes
You must first create a 2D dependent mesh and a global layup that references the master mesh.
Choose Laminates tab→3D group→Fill Laminate .
(Optional) In the Laminate 2D-to-3D Fill dialog box, modify the name of the extrusion setup.
In the graphics window, select the faces that you want to extrude. These faces can be polygon faces, 2D elements, or both. These polygon faces must have the master mesh of the 2D dependent mesh defined on them. The 2D elements must be part of the master mesh of the 2D dependent mesh.
(Optional) To combine plies from a ply group or a laminate into one 3D mesh, clear Single Ply per 3D Layer.
(Optional) To limit thickness variation of inflated plies, select Limit Thickness Variation and specify the minimum and maximum tolerance values as a percentage of the specified ply thickness.
Click OK.
