Defining constraint equations as elements
In the Simcenter Nastran or MSC Nastran environment, you can define constraint equations as a special type of 1D element in the FEM file.
In the 1D Connection or Element Create dialog box, select the Constraint Equations option from the Type list to create the element between the nodes you select. After you create the constraint elements, you can use the options on the Constraint Equation tab of the Manage Element Associated Data dialog box to specify the coefficients for the selected independent degrees-of-freedom.
Note:
The constraint equation elements do not have labels (IDs). Pre/Post assigns each constraint element an internal ID that you can reference to create journals.
After you define the constraint elements in the FEM file, you can apply constraints to these elements in the Simulation file. Use the Multi MPC option in the Manual Coupling dialog box to constrain selected elements.
