Create an exciter selection configuration

In this example, you will create an exciter configuration using the normal mode indicator function (NMIF) algorithm.

  1. Choose Correlation tab→Pre-Test Planning group→New Exciter Configuration .

  2. In the Method group, from the Method list, select NMIF.

  3. In the Settings group, in the Damping Ratio (%) box, type the damping ratio value.

  4. In the NMIF Threshold box, type the threshold value for the normal mode indicator function.

  5. From the Off-Axis Angles list, select the allowed orientation for the exciters.

  6. (Optional) Enter the name for the new exciter configuration.The name is displayed in the Simulation Navigator as the name for the exciter configuration node.

  7. Click OK.
