Local Analysis Results Strain dialog box
| Name-Description | |
|---|---|
| Name | Sets a unique name for the parameter. |
| Label | Sets a unique integer for the parameter. The dialog box automatically displays the next available label number. However, you might want to change this if you use a particular series of numbers to identify certain types of parameters. |
| Description | Sets a description for the parameter. This description appears in the Durability Simulation Objects dialog box only if you add the Description column to the list table. To do that, right-click the column heading row and choose Columns→Configure. In the Configure Columns dialog box, select the Description check box and then click OK. |
| Categorization | |
| Category | Sets the category name for this parameter. |
| Sub-Category | Sets the subcategory name for this parameter. The subcategory appears in the Durability Simulation Objects dialog box only if you add the Sub-Category column to the list table. |
| Properties | |
| Elastic Tensor Results | |
| Strain Tensor | Creates elastic strain tensor results. The tensor displayed here is the elastic transformation of the Elastic Stress Tensor as described in the Stress Tensor option of the Local Analysis Results Stress dialog box. The solver calculates the elastic transformation based on the stiffness parameter of the material you used in the simulation. If no stiffness parameter is defined for the material this result is not available. |
| Projections of Elastic Strain Tensor | |
| Strain Gage Direction | Creates elastic strain results projected in the strain gage directions. The solver calculates the projection based on the strain tensor as described in the Strain Tensor option. For torsional damage parameters such as P_SWT Torsion, the solver gives the strain as engineering shear strain. This option only applies if you selected a strain gage as the Location of the Function Definition. |
| Local Stress State Directions | Creates elastic strain results projected in local stress state directions. The solver calculates the projection based on the strain tensor as described in the Strain Tensor option. For torsional damage parameters such as P_SWT Torsion, the solver gives the strain as engineering shear strain. This option only applies if you selected nodes or elements as the Location of the Function Definition. |
| Strains in Projection Directions | |
| Strain Gage Direction | Creates strain results used in the damage evaluation projected in the directions you specified by the strain gage. In strain life analysis, these are the strains after applying the plastic correction as you defined in the Load Notch Strain Relation simulation object. For torsional damage parameters such as P_SWT Torsion, the solver gives the strain as engineering shear strain. This option only applies if you selected a strain gage as the Location of the Function Definition. |
| Local Stress State Directions | Creates strain results used in the damage evaluation projected in the directions specified by the Local Stress State. In strain life analysis these are the strains after applying the plastic correction as you defined in the Load Notch Strain Relation simulation object. For torsional damage parameters such as P_SWT Torsion, the solver gives the strain as engineering shear strain. This option only applies if you selected nodes or elements as the Location of the Function Definition. |
