Create Durability Material Properties dialog box
| Source Material | |
|---|---|
| Material | Lets you select the isotropic material that the software clones and estimates its durability properties. If these properties are already defined for the selected material, the software overwrites their value. |
| Select Material | Opens the Material List dialog box that lets you select an isotropic material from the local or library materials or create an isotropic material. |
| Definition Type | |
| Definition Type | Specifies the definition type the software uses to estimate the material durability properties.Universal SlopeEstimates an SN curve from the material type and its tensile strength.Uniform Material LawEstimates the fatigue properties of steels, aluminum, and titanium alloys from their Young’s modulus and tensile strength.Synthetic SN Curve from Strain LifeAllows you to define an SN Curve from the strain-life parameters. |
| Universal Slope Parameters | |
| Available for Universal Slope definition type. | |
| Material Type | Specifies the material type, such as steel and aluminum. |
| Tensile Strength | Specifies how you define the tensile strength.Inherit from MaterialAvailable if the tensile strength is already specified for the source material.Uses the Tension (ST) value that is defined in the Strength page of the Isotropic Material dialog box.SpecifyLets you enter the tensile strength value in the tensile strength box. |
| Tensile strength box | Sets the tensile strength value. |
| Uniform Material Law Parameters | |
| Available for Uniform Material definition type. | |
| Material Type | Specifies the material type: steel, aluminum, or gray cast. |
| Young Modulus | Specifies how you define the Young’s modulus.Inherit from MaterialAvailable if the Young’s modulus is already specified for the source material.Uses the Young’s Modulus value that is defined in the Mechanical page of the Isotropic Material dialog box.SpecifyLets you enter the Young’s modulus value in the Young’s modulus box. |
| Young’s modulus box. | Sets the Young’s modulus value. |
| Synthetic SN Curve from Strain Life Parameters | |
| Available for Synthetic SN Curve from Strain Life definition type. | |
| Strain Life Damage Parameters | Specifies the strain life damage parameter. |
| Manager Strain Life Damage Parameters Simulation Objects | Opens the Parameters dialog box that lets you create or select a strain life damage parameter. |
| Load Notch Strain Relation | Specifies the load notch strain relation. |
| Manager Load Notch Strain Relation Simulation Objects | Opens the Parameters dialog box that lets you create or select a load notch strain relation parameter. |
| OK | Estimates the material durability properties and opens the material dialog box where you can inspect the properties. |
