Multiple Reduction dialog box

Type
Export Exports a universal file to the specified directory.
Graph Creates a graph of reduced results across iterations, and optionally exports the graph as an AFU file or a field.
Input
Result Lists all loaded solutions and imported results.
Start Iteration/Start Load Case Specifies the first load case, subcase, step, iteration, or mode for the series.
End Iteration/End Load Case Specifies the last load case, subcase, step, iteration, or mode for the series.
Expression Manager Lists the results expressions available for use in the reduction. The following column headings are displayed:Expression Name lists the expression name assigned to the selected result types. Right-click a component in the table and choose Edit to rename the expression.Result Type lists the specified result type.Component****Unit displays the current units for the listed component or result type.CSYS .Right-click a column head or empty table cell and choose Export to Browser or Export to Spreadsheet to document your results expressions.
Step
Edit Expression Opens the Create Expression dialog box, where you can specify shell or beam recovery points, specify complex results options, and so on for the selected expression.
Add Expression Opens the Create Expression dialog box, where you can select a results type and component, specify shell or beam recovery points, specify complex results options, and so on to define a new expression.
Delete Expression Removes the expression from the Expression Manager.
Delete all Removes all listed expressions from the Expression Manager.
Add All Adds all default expressions to the Expression Manager.
Formula
Text box Displays the formula to apply to specified results expressions.Enter the formula using standard expression syntax.
Units System
The following options are available when the Type is set to Export.
From Result Inherits the units system used in the specified results set. Select a loaded results set from the list.If you add the result as a companion result to another results set, or import it into a simulation as an imported solution, the software can convert values into the target units system as needed.
User Defined Lists the current results units system in which the reduced results are stored. Click Change to select a new units system from the Result Units dialog box.
None Stores scalar results as real numbers with no units system defined. If you add the result as a companion result to another results set, or import it into a simulation as an imported solution, the results inherit the target units system with no value conversion.
Error Handling
Incompatible Results Specifies how to treat incompatible data at nodes or elements in any of the selected components or result types.SkipIgnores nodes or elements where the component or result type contain incompatible data. AbortAbandons the operation.
No Data Specifies how to treat selected components or result types when data at nodes or elements is absent or incomplete.SkipIgnores the node or element where component or result type data is missing.Zero-fillOutputs a value of zero for the missing data.
Evaluation Errors Specifies how to treat data at nodes or elements when evaluating the specified expression would return an error (as, for example, division by zero or the square root of a negative number).SkipIgnores the node or element where the error occurred. Zero-fillOutputs a value of zero at the node or element where the error occurred.AbortAbandons the operation.
Graph Name (Graph type)
Specifies the name of the graph. This name appears as the name of the graph in the Post Processing Navigator, and is used for the name of corresponding field or AFU file.
X axis (Graph type)
Display Specifies the units displayed along the X axis.
Y axis (Graph type)
Selection Type Specifies the selection type filter.
Select Entities Select entities of the specified type. If you select nodes or elements, you can click the entity in the Graphics region, or enter an Entity ID and click .
Nodal Averaging When reducing element-nodal results, specifies the method used to determine values at nodes:MinimumGraphs the minimum result stored at each node.MaximumGraphs the maximum result stored at each node.AverageGraphs the average value of all results at a node.SumGraphs the sum of all results at each node.NoneGraphs results without any addition averaging.
Geometry Value When selecting polygon geometry, specifies the method used to reduce FE entity values to a single result.Arithmetic MeanGraphs the average value of all results on selected geometry.MinimumGraphs the minimum result stored on selected geometry.MaximumGraphs the maximum result stored on selected geometry.SumGraphs the sum of all results on selected geometry.Weighted AverageGraphs the weighted average value of all results on selected geometry.IntegralGraphs value integration over a geometry.
Weight Average By Available when Geometry Value is Weighted Average or Integral. If Selection Type is Faces:AreaCalculates using Area weighted averaging.VolumeCalculates using Volume weighted averaging. If Selection Type is Edges:AreaCalculates using Area weighted averaging.LengthCalculates using Length weighted averaging.
Combine Across Entities When multiple entities (FE entities or geometry) are selected, combines the results for multiple entities into a single data series for graphing.
Value From Entities Available when the Combine Across Entities check box is selected. When combining values across entities into a single data series, species the method used to combine entity values:MinimumExtracts the minimum value across entities for each iteration or time step.MaximumExtracts the maximum value across entities for each iteration or time step.AverageDetermines the average value across entities for each iteration or time step.SumCalculates the sum of all values across entities for each iteration or time step.DifferenceCalculates the difference between values across two entities for each iteration or time step.
Output (Export type)
The following options are available when the Type is set to Export.
Create Result Companion creates a universal file and automatically adds it as a companion result to the specified solution.Full creates a universal file.
Companion Solution Appears only when Create Result is set to Companion.Specifies the name of the solution in the current model to add the companion results to. Choose a solution from the list.
Companion Name Appears only when Create Result is set to Companion.Specifies the name of the companion results. This is the name that appears in the Simulation Navigator under the Results node. Type a name in the text box.
Export Model Lets you export the model.
Load Result Immediately Controls the loading of the load case under the result in the Post Processing Navigator. Select the Load Result Immediately check box to automatically load the load case. Clear the Load Result Immediately check box to manually unload and then reload the results to display the newly created load case.
Solution Name Appears when Create Result is set to Full.Specifies the name for the imported solution. This is the name that appears in the Simulation Navigator.
Create Solution Appears when Create Result is set to Full. When selected, imports the universal file to the working Simulation file and creates a new solution. Clear this check box to export the universal file without creating a new solution.
Append Method Appears when Create Result is set to Companion.Determines how companion results appear in the Post Processing Navigator:Create new load caseCompanion results appear as a new load case in the specified solution.Merge into primary result dataCompanion results appear as a results type in the current load case of the specified solution.
Universal File Specifies the path and file name for the resulting universal file.Enter a path and file name in the text box, or click Browse to navigate to an appropriate location.
Result Type Lists available result types. This is the result type that is displayed in the post view header.
Output Name Specifies the output name. This is the name that appears in the Post Processing Navigator.
Load Case Name Specifies the load case name. This is the name that appears in the Post Processing Navigator.
Output (Graph type)
The following options are available when the Type is set to Create Field.
Create Field When selected, saves the graphed data as a field.
Save in AFU When selected, exports the graphed data to an AFU file.
