Importing loads as spatial fields

If you are working in the Nastran, Abaqus, or ANSYS solver environment, you can use the Import Selective Loads as Field Data option in the Import Simulation dialog box to import the following types of loads and constraints as spatial fields:

Solver Loads imported as spatial fields
Nastran PLOAD2 and PLOAD4 bulk data entries (pressure loads)
Abaqus *CLOAD keyword (concentrated force and moment loads)*DLOAD with l keyword (distributed pressure load)*TEMPERATURE keyword (temperature load)
ANSYS BF command (temperature loads).D command: (displacement & temperature constraints)F command: (force or moment loads)SFE command (surface loads on elements)

When you import complex models with many different boundary conditions, the Import Selective Loads as Field Data option improves performance and usability. Clearing the Import Selective Loads as Field Data check box may result in slower import processing and a very extensive listing of boundary conditions in the Simulation Navigator.

For more information on spatial fields, see Using fields and expressions to define boundary conditions.
