Create a report command
Tip:
To help users use and understand the report commands that you create, add descriptions when you create the commands. The descriptions appear in the Information window and the command manual.
(Optional) If the report command runs an NX Open program, create the program. Use the commands in the Default library for reference or look for examples online at the Simcenter 3D sharing site. For more information, see Get help or find more example commands.For more information, see the NX Open documentation in the Programming Tools area of the help.
Choose Menu→Tools→Report Command Manager.
Select the library to which you want to add the command.
Click Add Command .
In the Create Command dialog box, on General tab, enter a command name, display name, and description for the command. The command name is used as the keyword in the report template and the display name appears in the Report node of the Simulation Navigator.
In the Application group, select the application for the command.
Do one of the following depending on whether the command runs an NX Open program:If the command does not run an NX Open program, set Program to None.(Optional) If the command runs an NX Open program, do the following:Under Program, select the language of the program. Depending on the program type you select, options appear for entering the support files (for example, scripts for Python, DLLS for C++, and Jar files for Java).Click Browse to select the supporting files for the program. In addition, for C++, enter the Function Name and for Java, enter the Class Name.
Click the User Input tab to enter the input that the command requires from the user. The user input can be provided before and/or after the command runs. When a report item is created and displayed in the Report node of the Simulation Navigator, the children items under the item node require a user to enter the required information. The information required from the user can be text or images. In the Before Automation and After Automation group, click Add New User Input . Set Type to Text or Images. Enter a name and description for the input. The name appears in the Report node of the Simulation Navigator.The new user input appears in the List. Repeat steps a through c to add additional required input.
Click the Arguments tab to define arguments the NX Open program requires.The argument type can be a string, integer, double, or enumeration. The user enters the argument values in the report template or through the Simulation Navigator. Click the appropriate argument type.In the Argument Properties section, change or enter the information for the argument. For example, for an integer argument, enter the default value and its upper and lower bounds.
Click OK.
