Solver Parameters dialog box (Noise and Vibration)

Solver
Lists the selected meta-solution.
Parameters
Solver Installation Details
Target Operating System Family Specifies the operating system for the pre-solver script. Use the solver script file that corresponds to the selected operating system. Systems available are:Autodetect****Windows operating systemUnix operating system
Use UGII_PRESOLVER Select the Use UGII_PRESOLVER check box to use the location of the executable as specified by the UGII_PRESOLVER environment variable.By default, this variable is defined in the ugii_env_ug.dat file included with the installation. This variable points to the pre-solver executable in the simulation\PreSolver directory within this software's installation directory. With the UGII_PRESOLVER variable, you can customize it to point to different installations.
Solver Script Location Available when the Use UGII_PRESOLVER is cleared.Specifies the script location. Use the Solver Script Location to manually specify the directory path or Browse to select or create a directory.Note: The software does not validate the script location when you create an input file with Write Solver Input File in the Solve dialog box. Therefore, you can also enter a non-existent script location for Solver Script Location. The script can be located on a system that you want to use for remote solving. For more information about Write Solver Input File, see Solve dialog box.
Solver Resource Options
Specifies the location of the directory where the pre-solver generates input and output files, including results and log files.
Temporary Folder Option Use the Temporary Folder Option box to specify:System SettingsUses the assigned System Settings for solver file location.Model DirectoryUses the Model Directory for solver file location.User DefinedUses the directory location you define for solver file location.
Solver Temporary Directory Available when Temporary Folder Option is set to User Defined.Specifies the solver temporary directory. Use the Solver Temporary Directory to manually specify the directory path or Browse to select or create a directory.Note: The software does not validate the solver temporary directory when you create an input file with Write Solver Input File in the Solve dialog box. Therefore, you can also enter a non-existent location for Solver Temporary Directory. The directory can be located on a system that you want to use for remote solving. For more information about Write Solver Input File, see Solve dialog box.
Advanced Settings
Memory (GB) Specifies the total maximum RAM used by the solver. This will be reflected in the matrix decomposition computation.
Number of Threads (smp) Specifies the number of threads to use in parallel multi-threading (Nastran smp - Shared Memory Parallel) for solving the solution.
