Create a laminate physical property for the ply-based process

This example shows how to create a Laminate physical property for the ply-based process and assign it to the 2D mesh collector. In the ply-based process, the software computes the laminate properties and assigns them to element zones. You will also assign a failure theory for the laminate.

Choose Laminates tab→2D group→Laminate Physical Property .

In the Laminate Properties group, from the Stacking Recipe list, select Inherited from layup.

From the Failure Theory, select Maximum Stress.

Click OK.

In the Simulation Navigator , right-click the 2D mesh collector and choose Edit.

From the Type list, select Laminate.

From the Shell Property list, select the laminate physical property that you just created.

Click OK.

You are now ready to create your global layup.
